Fall Fundraising at Lunada Bay

Hello families! We have a few fundraisers happening this Fall and thought it would be helpful to provide a summary of each one since we have so many new families this year, and so many that haven’t been here when we’ve had a normal fundraising Fall! Here’s the scoop:

October:

• October 14-18: Scary Grams – this is a 5^th Grade Fundraiser designed as a fun activity for kids leading up to Halloween. Kids can send their friends & classmates “scary grams” for $1 each. Note: if you ordered Scary Grams this year, they will be delivered to your child’s classroom on Thursday, 10/20 to take home and fill out, then they will be delivered to recipients the following week. All proceeds directly benefit the 5^th Grade Fundraiser, an annual tradition benefitting the school. At the end of the year the 5^th Grade uses funds raised towards a gift to the school that commemorates their class and time at Lunada Bay. You can see previous years gifts as you walk around campus!
• October 30 (Sunday): October’s big highlight is the Skechers Walk. This fundraiser benefits the Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF) and each school has a goal. Funds raised are matched by Skechers, so this is a great opportunity to have your donations go even further! You can physically walk on the day of the event, or you can participate as a “virtual walker”. You can sign up everyone in your household, friends, and family (even pets!) – it’s up to you. Each walker is a $30 donation, and that is the money that goes towards our fundraising goal. Walkers get t-shirts as well. November:

We have two fundraisers in November that directly benefit Lunada Bay Elementary – Fall Family Fun Night & the Fun Run.

• November 10 (Thursday): Fall Family Fun Night – this is mostly a way for families to get together socially and bring a closer sense of community to our school. The 5^th grade also sells concessions, from which profits will go towards the 5^th Grade Fundraiser. The 5^th Grade Fundraiser raises money for the 5^th Grade Gift to the school. Every year, the 5^th Grade class gives a gift to the school to commemorate their class and time at Lunada Bay. This year we will be showing the movie Lightyear! Please RSVP here.
• November 14 (Monday): The Fun Run – this is an hour of fun for the kids at the end of the school day, and is a fundraiser for our Fine Arts Programming like Art at Your Fingertips and our new Musical Theater Program. Students and teachers wear t-shirts with the winning student designs, dance and run around the track and get rewarded with popsicles afterward. This year we are choosing two designs! One from TK-2^nd grade student entries, and one from 3^rd-5^th grade student entries. Our goal this year is to raise $15,000 and all of this money goes directly to our school, via our PTA. Parents and families are asked to sponsor their children (via an optional donation).
