NOTICE OF CHANGE TO LUNADA BAY ELEMENTARY PTA BYLAWS

 A vote to adopt the following changes to the bylaws of the LUNADA BAY ELEMENTARY PTA will take place at the association meeting in JANUARY.

DATE OF MEETING:   1/12/21

TIME:  The business of the unit will begin at 9 A.M.

LOCATION:  REMOTELY VIA ZOOM

Bylaw Changes – EXAMPLES / SAMPLES for REFERENCE:

Bylaws Article VIII, Section 2, letter d: Strike “district”

Rationale:  This is a PVP Council requested revision to the bylaws.  

Bylaws Article IX, Section 2: Add “with a maximum of seven (7) delegates.” after “thereof”

Rationale: This is as PVP Council revision to the bylaws.

Standing Rule, Section 5:  add “seventh vice president of Legislation chair”

Rationale:  This is CAPTA requested rule change to ensure we have designated a seventh Vice President of Legislation.

Standing Rule, Section 17: Remove current Standing Committees; addition of Gifting Standing Committee

Rationale: a “Standing Committee” is a committee that meets throughout the year; the chair of these committees should be included in Exec Board and Association meetings and add to your quorum numbers.  The Gifting Committee meets this requirement. Events & Fundraising Standing Committees do not meet these requirements. By eliminating these Standing Committees,  it helps with managing quorum for future meetings.

Standing Rule, Section 18: Council assessment is $500.00, not $1000.00

Rationale: To correctly reflect the council assessment for our elementary school PTA.
